Faithful Shepherd Presbyterian Church began as a new church development in west Omaha in 1986.  After worshiping in several rental spaces, we moved into our current sanctuary in September of 1995.  While we no longer consider ourselves a new church development, we do look forward to the new things God will ask of us.

 

Our mission is to be a loving, caring church that leads people in exploring discipleship, discovering their God-given gifts and learning how to apply them in the community of faith.  We also believe our mission extends beyond the walls of our church so reaching out to the community through Christ-centered intergenerational programming is an important part of our lives as Christians.

The Presbyterian Church USA provides the foundation for our church leadership and theology.  Elders and Deacons are elected each year by the congregation to serve three year terms.  These two groups, in addition to our pastor, direct our church life. Elders serve on the Session guiding and directing the ministry of the church including programming and budgets.  The Board of Deacons duty is to minister to those who are in need, to the sick and to any who may be in distress within and beyond our community of faith.
