Signs of Spring Renewal

Springtime blessings to you!

I hope all of your senses are waking up to the reality of the shift of seasons that is all around us. Birds migrate and return, critters and bugs come out of their hiding places, grass turns green, trees bud, plants poke their green heads out from the ground.

I have reflected much this spring and I cannot help but look back at the differences between this spring and last. A person had to look very closely to see hope in the midst of the looming pandemic and the mass changes that were underfoot. Not that it wasn’t there.

While COVID-19 continues to be an ever-presence in our lives, there are tangible and real signs of hope springing up everywhere. Here at the church, there is no lack of signs of Spring renewal and hope. I wanted to share with you some of the signs of renewal that are springing up around the church.

Resurrection Sunday outside - This year, we decided to hold our Easter worship services outside, and I am so excited about it! Please join us for one or both of these services held on our church’s green space.

Another Sunday school session concludes - On April 11th, we will conclude our Spring Sunday school session. Two classes of youth (and their teachers!) have wonderfully adapted to the times and have been able to spend 8 weeks in class together learning about Jesus. Well done!

New Members - At the end of April we will welcome the newest members into the life of Faithful Shepherd’s ministry.

A New Class - This spring/early summer we will also be welcoming our newest class of Elders and Deacons to active service.

H.O.P.E. Garden is getting ready - The Master Gardeners have been active prepping the H.O.P.E. Garden for another great season of growth. All produce from the H.O.P.E. Garden is donated to Heartland Hope Mission.

Opportunities for Service - As the weather warms, keep your eyes open for the opportunity to serve God and your community through your church!
